Miranda uses a variety of techniques including fascia stretch and mobility work, gentle Pilates exercises, traditional yoga postures and body and breath awareness training to create a gentle, deep, and comprehensive class.
During this Slow Flow, you can expect to spend the first part of class on the floor, working on hip, shoulder and spinal mobility. This prepares the body for the standing sequence of more traditional yoga asanas that create strength, alignment and balance. The entire sequence is paired with breath work that calms the mind, and heightens the energetic flow of prana or vital life force.
The class concludes with meditation and śavāsana which will deepen a sense of calmness and relaxation. The śavāsana may be paired with music including mantra, the handpan drum or the harmonium.
All levels are welcome—especially those needing more release and flexibility, athletes, individuals looking for pain relief and injury prevention and anyone who wants to down regulate their nervous system. It’s recommended that attendees have the ability to lie on their backs for the beginning mobility segment.
