MANDALA FLOW & MEDITATION
Thursday 5:15pm-6:30pm
Saturday 9:30am-10:45am
Kara
Committed to the practices of Yoga as a lifestyle and path, Kara deeply cares about her students and clients and this authentic love and support is evident in her teaching. She believes Yoga is a vehicle for personal development and growth, thus is committed to holding a safe and sacred space for her students. When you attend a class with her in Oahu, you can expect classical education and instruction in yoga philosophy and breathwork coupled with dynamic sequencing in a fluid, powerful flow style called Mandala.
Based on the teachings of Shiva Rea, Mandala Flow Yoga is a fairly brisk yet steady, safe vinyasa flow that encompasses the entire yoga mat. You move in a circular pattern (hence the name Mandala), including side-to-side as well as front-back movement, and you experience pulsations and waves in the body. These full body movements build strength in the core and hips, ring out the spine, and help to tone the legs. This is a sequence-heavy class, meaning that many postures will be linked together. The class ends with deep floor postures, breath work and meditation. You will leave feeling lighter, supported and uplifted.

Mai
Hatha + Mantra class gives students a chance to experience many of yoga’s offerings like asana, pranayama, chant, meditation, and yoga nidra. The class begins with a “dharma” talk, a yogic point of view on a particular subject, something that we all can relate to, and find insights on how to bring the wisdom of yoga into our lives. We continue with a centering, pranayama, and chanting. The class offers various types of chants, sometimes a syllable like Klim, and others the Gayatri, a longer chant. No experience is required, just an open heart.
We dive into asanas after our opening, moving slowly and intentionally thru each posture, and always focused on alignment. A wide range of asanas is offered, from restorative to inversions, allowing each student to focus on what is needed in that class. The class ends with plenty of time for relaxation, or savasana, and sometimes yoga nidra.
Hatha + Mantra was created to provide each student a chance to reconnect to the self in all layers, and leave class in a calm and centered state.
